When do I put my container out for curbside pickup?

7a.m. to 7p.m.

Please ensure your containers are placed curbside or at the end of your driveway between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on your scheduled service day. This is to ensure that they are emptied promptly. Please note that route times may vary depending on the weather and the availability of drivers. The routes may also be picked up in reverse if needed. It is important to ensure that the lids of your containers are completely closed. Please avoid overfilling your containers as additional fees may apply 

Why was my trash not picked up?

Service disruption can happen for a few reasons:

*Weather conditions

*Service scheduled for another day.

*Account balance is past due.

*Contact information is not current.

*Container Blocked.

Can I request an extra pick up?

For an additional pick-up, please contact us by phone or email with 48 hours notice. Additional fees may apply for services outside regular schedule.

What can I do to avoid illegal dumping?

* Lock your container.

Cable and Combination Locks for dumpsters are available for purchase from Golden Eagle Trash.

* Notify strangers that your container is for private use only.

* House your container in an enclosure with a locked gate. Make sure to unlock your enclosure prior to service days.

* Place your container in a well-lit area.

* If possible, keep your container away from high-traffic areas.

* Consider installing security cameras to monitor your site.

* The more aware you are about spotting illegal dumping the less likely it will continue in your area. People who illegally dump look for untended areas where no one is paying attention.

What can I do to avoid Bear problems?

* Cover your container with a secure tarp or a lid.

* Minimize Odors by double bagging.

* Keep container clean.

* Schedule container to be picked up frequently.

What items are not allowed to be placed in my container?

Items we will pick up outside of container for additional fee:

*Tires

*Large Furniture

*Appliances (No Refrigerators)

Items we do not pick up: 

*Hazardous Materials-Gunnison County Landfill cannot accept any items that are in liquid form

  • Acrylics (unless dried)

  • Anti-freeze

  • Artist Oils

  • Asbestos (unless approved by special permit)

  • Auto Body Filler

  • Brake Fluid

  • Broken Smoke Detectors

  • Ceramic Glazes

Can I pause my service?

It is possible to pause your service for four consecutive months or longer. You must notify us before pausing and again when you return to resume service.
